Our Children's Stories

Just a few of the many stories of the kids at the GGM Children's Home. We pray that your heart is touched and moved to take one of these precious little ones under your care.

Lavanya

This precious little one came to us when she was just three years old. A man who identified himself as her uncle brought Lavanya to the Children’s Home. We told him that the Home was full and we didn’t have room to take any new children. After a few hours, we found Lavanya crying at the gate abandoned by the man who called himself her uncle.

We immediately brought the toddler into the Home and informed the police. The next day, the man came back to find out whether we took Lavanaya in. We again contacted the police and they arrived while the man was still at the Home. The police instructed him to cooperate fully with us. After a few hours of conversation, he acknowledged that he is her father. He told us that Lavanya’s mother died and that her stepmother (his current wife) abused the child and burned her with iron rods. She was also left alone and made to sit outside in the hot sun.

We took Lavanya into our Home and she became one of ours. She is one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet. She is currently in 4th grade studying at St. Anthony’s school. Unfortunately, her father died in a motorcycle accident in 2006. Many of our children leave to be with extended family after high school, for Lavanya the GGM family will be her home.

Manju (Beulah)

Manju's father died years ago. Her mother is a daily wage worker. They have no friends or relatives who are in a position to help them financially. Manju and her mother came to the Lord through the GGM ministry at Erode. Manju's mother wants  her daughter to get an education and to succeed in life. She brought her to the Children's Home requesting us to help her.

Jothika & Subashini

Jothika and Subashini are sisters.  When their father deserted them, they moved (along with their mother) to their grand-mother's (mother's mother) house. But their grand-mother is also poor and unable to pay for their education. The children and their mother came to the Children's Home looking very sad and were in dire conditions. The girls are doing much better now and are recuping from years of malnourishment.
